Chocolate Tin

Another thing I have been collecting is Chocolate stamps. The stamp that I used on the front of the tin is one that Nancy Sorensen rak'd me with when I first started stamping about 3 1/2 years ago. It sure is a beauty. These are 3x3 card's with matching envelopes. The other saying is one from Forest Gump. Click on the picture to read it. I used Chocolate Chip Grosgrain ribbon and ink, and the DSP is Au Chocolate which is retired. I am down to about a sheet and a half of it. I sure wish I had more of it. It goes so well with Chocolate and Coffee projects. I made 3 other tins yesterday that I will show to you later. I was up till midnight working on them. They turned out really cute! This sure has been a week for company. Today my mom was here, Diane, Nadine, and Beth. I am just eating some supper now. I had put pork chop's in the slow cooker with cream of chicken soup. I made some rice to go with and I am enjoying every bite. Yummy!

More RAKS!!!!

Yesterday when I was talking to Melissa on the phone, she told me that Isabelle and her had been to Goodwill in the Rapids that day. She said that they had ran into Tammy Renner who mentioned that every time she goes to Goodwill that she see's some blue glass and that she automatically thinks of me. Tammy rak'd me with a blue glass basket at Christmas time last year that is beautiful! Any how, Melissa tells me that Isabelle was going to RAK me as she had spotted the perfect thing for me and had asked her mother if she could get it for me. I babysat for Isabelle this afternoon while AJ and Melissa set up there new stall at the flea market. So Isabelle came in the door with this for me today! She tells me how she found this and that she remembered that I collected Hershey's things and that she didn't think that I had this and that it would go good with my things. She was right, I don't have this. I do have a littler stuffed Hershey's kiss that is different and isn't as nice as this one. Isabelle made a tag that she had attached to the top of the kiss, along with the Owl stamp set that Melissa gave me for watching twirpy. I had mentioned on Tuesday that I had found a new owl stamp set last week and had gotten it for half price when I was with Debby and that I was really getting into owls lately. So now I have another owl to play with and the saying that goes with it is so cute. It says: A wise man once said...Follow your dreams, except the one where you're at work in your underwear. Too funny.....and I have had that dream myself many times!
Isabelle and I had a great time this afternoon. She talked nonstop for the first hour that she was here. She brought sucker's for us and we were sitting on the couch licking them and talking. If any one had seen us...they probably would have thought we were both kids. Then she was showing me how to do some origami that she learned how to do in summer school. We made paper airplanes and had airplane fights (aka known as shooting them at each other!). Then she wanted to make a card and before you know it...her mom was back. She wasn't too keen about going home, but did. Thanks again for the goodies today! Mr. Hershey is looking down on me from the computer tower right now! Hugs & Kisses! Boo

Danna's Party

These are the project's we made at Danna Petersen's stamping party this month. The Popsicle card was made with the stamp set's Tart and Tangy and On Your Birthday. We used the Scalloped Circle, 1 3/8" and 1 1/4" Circle punches, and the slot punch. Ink used was Only Orange. Card Stock: Only Orange, Yo Yo Yellow, Whisper White, Gable Green. Hole's were poked around the scallop's with the mat pack and Apricot Appeal ribbon was tied around the popsicle stick and attached in place on the back of the popsicle stick with a glue dot so that it doesn't slip down. The other card was made with the stamp set Circus Circle, stamped in Rich Razzleberry Ink. Other supplies used were the scalloped edge and scalloped circle punches, 3/4" circle punch, round tab punch, "for you" from the stamp set Fresh Cuts and it was stamped in white craft ink, leaves were cut out with the big shot and the card was embossed with a texture plate. Piercing was done with the mat pack and paper piercer. Card stock: Bermuda Bay, Whisper White, Rich Razzleberry. Dimensionals were used to pop up the 3/4" circle for the flower center's.

Birds & Blooms Card

Hello! Today Susie and I spent the whole day together. We talked, we shared goodies with each other, went for lunch and stamped. A fun day! And we may do it again tomorrow!

I love how today's card turned out. I love the color's and the 3Dness of it. And it was almost completely done with the Big Shot which I love too. As my stamper's would say...you love everything Elaine. How true is that! So fun to be doing something that you love to do!

Outlined for fun and a RAK!

Today was a Melissa day! What do I mean by that....well...Melissa had me most of the day! It started with talking on the phone for 2 hours in the morning. I had my headset on and got some stuff done while we were talking. We then decided that she would come and she arrived around 2 and stayed till around 7. We haven't talked much the past couple of weeks so we had a lot of catching up to do. And she is getting a stall at the flea market so we tossed a lot of idea's around about that, and of course talked a lot about stamping. She brought in a couple of her coffee stamp sets for me and she mounted them while we were talking and I worked on coloring images at the same time. I have a lot of images all ready to be made into cards now. When Melissa was backing out of the driveway, she spotted a little red squirrel watching her so she got out of the truck and started petting it and it let her. She picked it up a foot or so off the ground and then it wanted to get away so she let it go so it wouldn't bite her. I said the next thing....you will have a pet squirrel. I like to call her Dr. Dolittle as she always is taking in some new animal. She said when she was petting it that she was wondering if AJ was allergic to squirrels!!!! LOL Too funny and AJ would have not been too happy if she had brought a squirrel home. The pin on this post is a pin she gave me about a month ago and I have been meaning to get a picture of it on here and never got it done. Imagine that. She said when she saw it she immediately thought of me as she knows how I love to bake. I do love to bake very much and I love the pin! Thanks buddy! That was a very nice RAK! And while I am thanking....most of you do not know that many stamp sets that I demo are Melissa's. Most of the time they haven't even seen ink yet. She order's them and lets me use them FIRST! Now isn't that amazing...and quite generous. She didn't like to mount stamps and that was part of the reason as she likes how I mount them but today when she was mounting the coffee one's she said that she actually likes mounting stamps now. Miracles never cease.....now if we could only get Nadine to like mounting stamps. It would save poor Sandy Renner's hands! :-D Anywhoo....I really appreciate it that you let me demo your stamps Melissa and so do the gals in our group! Hugs Minerva! Boo

Bloomin' Beautiful

Hello! I am lovin' this cool weather. It can stay this temperature all year long. It is perfect. And speaking of cool weather....guess what I have been working on today!?!? Football cards. No...I am not a football fan but I need more masculine cards for my card racks. Lady Di has a bunch of the Stampin' Up sport sets and I had asked if I could use the basketball set as I had seen some cute cards lately made with that. She brought me all of her sets and suggested that I start with football being as that will be starting soon. Lady Di is a big football fan and has a RULE....that I can't come out during a foot ball game. "Why? You might ask?"........because I talk to much and she might miss something! Does that surprise you!?!?!? LOL :-D I have been getting in trouble for talking since about 4th grade. My 4th grade teacher, Mrs. Twactman used to separate me from my friends (can you imagine that!?!?). My mom says that all she had to do to punish me when I got into any trouble was to make me go to my room when I was young. She says that I couldn't stand being away from everyone else! Must be the "people" person in me...LOL And poor all of you....you have to listen to me ramble on here! :)

This set that I used on this card was a gift from Lady Di. I was out there last summer one day (it wasn't a football day, (;-D) and I was making some cards with this set. I absolutely fell in love with it. It had been in a mini catalog and I couldn't buy one. :-( So the next day....low and behold....here she comes trotting into the flea market with it and gave it to me. I had helped her with something...who knows what. I didn't expect anything in return but Di always thinks she has to pay you back somehow. Hard as I try...I can never get ahead of her on that one. So I just give up and surrender. So to my delight, she gave me this set. Later on, they did put it in the catalog, so now it is available to purchase. I tried to give this set back to her at that time but she wouldn't have any part of it. So this card is dedicated to Di today. Here's look'in at ya kid!

All Heart Vinca

It is time for the Owl Whimsy Blog Hop. Today we are featuring digital stamps from the new set All Heart Vinca. I chose to make a tent card and used the sunflower heart out of the new set All Heart Vinca. This set can be purchased at owlwhimsy.com. I decided to use some Studio G stamps with it. The center of the sunflower was just "begging" for something to be put in it so I chose to put a cupcake in the center that is popped up with a dimensional and I used Cotton Candy stickles as the frosting. The sentiment "Your Sweet" is also a Studio G stamp. I punched it out with the SU Word Window punch and then mounted it on the new SU Modern Label punch. I am just loving that new punch, as you can tell! I used my nesties to cut out the oval and scalloped oval, and an EK Success border punch on the bottom of the pink polka dot paper. If you enlarge the photo, you can see that I did a bunch of paper piercing on the card. The next stop on the blog hop is Paula's blog at http://stampnscrapwithpaula.blogspot.com.
Enjoy!

Upsy Daisy

Good Evening from Mayberry! The weather held out good today till 2 pm when it POURED......and I got soaked hauling my stuff in at the flea market. I got it all hauled in and then it stopped. This weather on the weekends this year is for the birds! At least we almost got a full day in today. Jessie, the 16 year old who's family rents the booth next to me spent most of the day with me and we had lots of fun chatting. Her mom told me when Jessie wasn't around that Jessie had seen my van at Pamida this week and was telling her mom...."There's my friend, my friend is here, my friend is here at Pamida!" Val told her she could go in and find me if she wanted to but she didn't. I get such a kick out of that, as she will do that at the flea market too, she will tell them that she is going over by her friend. An old guy this morning was asking her how old she was...14???? And she said no, I am 16. He said that she borrowed a few years from her mother, meaning me. We got a kick out of that so I was teasing her the rest of the day that she was my third daughter, which she liked. She took my Taylor Swift CD home today. I just finished 4 more cards for the Coffee shop and I think I will go get out my coffee stamps and start working on some gift card holder's for the shop. Until tomorrow! Boo

Flight of the Butterfly

Today Lady Di and I went to the Dells and got my card rack set up at the Hill of Beans Coffee Shop. If you haven't been there, you should stop in. She has lots of neat things in there. It is near the fire station in Lake Delton. You turn right at the light if you are heading south and go towards the Crystal Grand and Walmart. It is on the left hand side of the street. I also put a couple of towels and pillows in there. When we got back to town we had Chinese before heading home. I am listening to the new Martina Mc Bride CD Shine and it is very good. I just finished up a bunch of popsicle card's and started some Circus Circle Cards. I made Key Lime Cheese ball for my sample for tomorrow. I am sure hoping that the rain will hold off till night time.
Recipe: Stamp Set: Flight of the Butterfly. Card stock: Regal Rose, Basic Black, Pink Piroquette, Whisper White, Pumpkin Pie, and Sweet Always DSP. Punches: Scalloped Circle, Scalloped Edge, 1 3/8 & 1 1/4 Circle Punches, 3/8" Corner Rounder. Ink: Regal Rose, Basic Black, White Signo Gel Pen

Fresh Cuts

I had a very fun, busy day. I spent the day with Sarah in Reedsburg today. I got to see their
remodeling project. They are turning half of there living room into an office. It is going to be really nice when it is all done. They are also working on a dog kennel for Hunter and have the ground ready to pour concrete down. Sarah's flower's are gorgeous! I had planned to take my camera down there today but forgot it on my desk at home. Oh well....next time!
We worked on the wording for her wedding picnic invitations and went uptown to run some errands. We also went in to Lake Delton to Walmart and also stopped at a coffee shop which will be taking my cards on consignment. I am taking them down there tomorrow. So I am very excited about that! And I had my first iced coffee which was very good! I hit a bunch of rummage sales and the thrift shops down there and found some more goodies! I haven't done much of that this summer so it was a nice treat!

Recipe: Fresh Cuts stamp set, Scallop circle and lacy edge punch, 1 1/4 & 1 3/8 Circle punches. Blue Bayou card stock and designer paper, whisper white, basic black. Basic black ribbon.

All Holidays

This is a simple card that I made with the stamp set All Holidays and the Parisian Breeze DSP. The base of the card is Chocolate Chip, and I used some of the newer larger silver brads on the side. Clean, simple and cute, and makes a great masculine style card. I have been busy working on things for Sandy's party in August. I have both projects designed and cut. I will be teaching a spotlighting technique with the stamp set Friends 24/7 and we will be making a "Z" fold card with the stamp set Just Buzzin' By. Plus I have other sample cards to show you. I have been just a buzzin'! You won't want to miss this party gals! Elaine

Forest Friends

This little cutie is made with the stamp set Forest Friends. The little rabbit reminds me of the rabbit I have in my yard every spring. My girls would get so excited as every year we always had our very own real live Easter Bunny! The big rabbit was back as usual, but this year I have a baby bunny that I see scooting across the yard some days. It is so cute! The designer paper on this card is from the Sale-A-Bration pack we had this winter. I also used a Chocolate Chip Corduroy button on this card and tied some linen thread through it. The dots on the side were made with the Signo white gel pen. Chocolate Chip ribbon is tied around the card, and the panel is scalloped with the scalloped edge punch. I finished it off with some Rich Regal Brads. The images were markered with Certainly Celery, Chocolate Chip, and Creamy Carmel Markers. I see it is now pitch black outside and I forgot to do my watering. I'd better hip hop outside and get that done. Have a good night!

Great Friend/Wonderful Favorite

This card I used two stamp sets on. The word "wonderful" is from the stamp set Wonderful Favorite's. The butterfly and the verse are from the stamp set Great Friend. I just love that set and I am sure you will be seeing lot's more of it. I glued some pearls on the butterfly from the "Pretties Kit". They give projects such an elegant touch. The designer paper is Pink Pirouette and the panels are layered on a solid panel of Pink Pirouette which is then mounted on Riding Hood Red Card Stock.

Birds with Leaves & Flower Die/On Your Birthday

Since I have been a slacker and didn't get my post's done over the weekend, I thought I would make up for it by doing a few extra! Lucky you! This card was made mostly with the Big Shot and the die, Birds with Leaves & Flower. I stamped the saying on the front with the stamp set On Your Birthday. The bird has a silver brad for his eye, and the flower has a Rhinestone Circle Brad for the center. The designer paper is Tea Party. Such a fun, springy print. The card stock colors that I used are Old Olive, Pretty in Pink, Chocolate chip, and Barely Banana.

Thoughts of Father

Hello! This is the card that I made for my dad for Father's Day. You should have seen him study the outside of it. I swear he looked at it for ten or fifteen minutes. When I was a kid, he liked to teach me how to draw. And he would tell me when I had things out of proportion. He would redraw it on another sheet of paper and show me how to do it correctly and then I had to do it over. Another thing he liked to do was if he ever saw anything made or drawn (not my stuff) and it didn't have the right parts on it or wasn't done in the correct scale, he would let you know how it should be. Surprisingly, he didn't say anything about the auto on this card. The stamp designer must have done a pretty good job on it. LOL Anyhow, it was interesting to watch him study it. Here is the recipe:
Stamp Set: SU Thoughts of Father. Card stock: Creamy carmel, Chocolate Chip, Whisper White, Parisian Breeze DSP, White Gel Pen, Ticket Corner Punch, Twill Tape, Key Tag Punch, Tearing, and Sponging.

Tart & Tangy

I am finally getting rested up after a two hour nap today. Boy was I wiped yesterday. I spent most of the day in bed reading. I got some housecleaning done this morning and ran some errands before my nap this afternoon. I got up around 4, well actually I was woke up by the phone. I have been stamping ever since and I have 7 samples made for Sandy's party now and they turned out really cute! I just finished making my pizzeria cheese ball for tomorrow sample at the flea market. Stop down and try it out! Elaine

Recipe: Stamp Sets: Tart & Tangy, On Your Birthday. Punches: Scalloped Circle, 1 3/8" & 1 1/4" Circle Punches. Markers: Old Olive and Real Red. Card stock: Chocolate Chip, Kraft, Old Olive, Real Red, Bella Rose DSP. Big Shot: Dot's textured plate.

Scrapbook Secrets & The Quilting Answer Book

These are two books that I just finished reading that I would recommend. Especially the quilting book. If you a beginner quilter this is a fantastic reference book to have. Even seasoned quilter's might want to have this. I ordered these from the library. If you want to have your own copy, Amazon does have these in the new and used section. Check them out! Happy Reading! Elaine

Thoughts & Prayers

Another busy day. Debby Bjorseth, from IL, is up and we went shopping today. We started out at the scrap book store in Coloma as I need to deliver a stamping order there. Then we headed to Plover and had lunch at the Golden Corral. We were then off to Michael's, Walmart, and then back to Michael's. I found out while I was in Michael's that they have a larger Michael's in Wausau and that Joanne's is near it. So off we went to Michael's and Joanne's in Wausau. I did not know that all those stores were all grouped together at Rib Mountain and really liked that. Lots of my favorite stores all in one area! It will be much nicer to go there than to Madison. We stopped at Country Kettle in Hancock for dinner and they had a deal where you could get both hamburger's and ff for a dollar each! We had grilled onion's, cheese, and pickles added on. And it was fantastic. Where can you eat for less than $3.00 and have such great food!?!?! No where that I know of. We will definitely be heading back there. A fun day but boy am I tired and hurting. It will be good to be able to rest up the next two days! Here is the recipe for today's card:
Stamp set: SU Thoughts and Prayers, Card stock: Riding hood Red, Pretty in Pink, Whisper White, Riding Hood Red Taffeta Ribbon, Bella Rose Designer Series Paper, Ink: Kiwi Kiss, & Chocolate Chip

Summer School

Today I had the privilege of speaking to the two summer school scrap booking classes that Linda Grignano and Danna Petersen are teaching. In 2006 when Nadine Ashworth and Linda Grignano were teaching it, I came in and spoke to each class for about 15 minutes. In 2007 my health wasn't the greatest during that time period so I didn't go to summer school. I was invited in 2008 to come back and speak again. That year, and this year, I spoke to the children the entire class period. Summer school starts at 8:30 and there are two classes in the morning with the second ending around 11:30. So for about 3 hours I talked non stop. Now, most of you who know me won't be surprised at that! LOL But the surprising thing is, that the kids sat like little angels the whole time! I showed them my scrap book and showed them different techniques that I did in it. I talked to them about the importance of journaling and using acid free products. About planning, labeling, and making titles on your pages and much more. We had a wonderful time and I hope that some day that some of these kids will be in my future classes. I let them each pick out an Artist Trading Card to keep and they loved that. During their break, one of the little girls showed me this card she made of her hand. She embossed the fingernails so they would look like nail polish! What a clever idea and how she came up with the verse to go with it "Everyone needs a helping hand!". Look out Hallmark...here she comes! I took pictures of the kids for you to see and took two of each group, just to show them by taking pictures at different angles how different the pictures look. They were pretty surprised by that and could really understand why it was important to move around when you were taking pictures. At the very end of the second class, one of the teacher's said to me that Mattie had something she wanted to show me. She brings this card out from under the table and starts telling me that they had all sat around the table with Mrs Petersen one day and that they had all designed this card together as a group. She told me step by step how they had made it. And that they wanted me to have it to thank me for coming to talk to them! Aww...did that touch my heart and I will treasure that card forever. I guess she had pulled one of the teacher's aside and asked if they could give it to me. So this was all her own idea. The saying was so appropriate as I had talked a lot to them about memories, preserving them, friends and family. This is what the saying on the card says: Friends are the flowers in memory's scented garden. So very true! Thanks Mattie and the summer school classes....you made my day and another memoriy I will treasure!

Big Shot Card

Good Evening. Today was an exciting day. I got things ready for Danna's stamping party during the day, ran some errands, and then got to the church around 4:30 to set up for the party. Danna had a wonderful spread of food for us. These parties are one thing you don't want to miss because who ever is hostess serve's us wonderful food and of course, I teach great projects! Tee Hee! We had a lot of fun as usual. I will upload pictures of the projects in the next couple of days and then you will be able to see them.

Recipe: "HI" was cut with Serif Essentials Alphabet Die and the Big Shot, Chocolate Chip flowers are punched with the SU Trio punch, Silver Brads for the flower center's, Good Morning Sunshine DSP, Card stock: So Saffron, and Certainly Celery.

Big Bold Birthday

These are a couple of cards I made with the retired set Big Bold Birthday. I never really played with this set till right before it retired which was a big mistake as it is a very versatile set. I was amazed at all I could do with it and how cool everything looked. I especially like how the bubbles make such a cool background. This stamp set is at the stall right now and some lucky person will get to take it home with them!
Today was a long day but lots of fun. Lady Di and I went to La Crosse for her doctor's appointment and we also did some shopping at Hobby Lobby and Michael's. We were in quite the silly mood today and laughed so hard. Di really had me going in Hobby Lobby. She had her sunglasses on in the store (the spiderman one's, that is another story......LOL). She told me to lead her to the scrapbooking department as she couldn't see. She had been singing right before we came in the store so I said to her ok singing blind man it is this way. She starts walking along pretending she is singing doing this Stevie Wonder impression, jerking her head, and I thought I was going to die laughing. She had me laughing so hard that I told her to stop as I thought I was going to wet my pants I was laughing so hard!!!! I discovered for the first time that trying to walk and laugh that hard are not a good combination! Every now and then on the way home one of us would bust out laughing over that one again. Sometimes we have so much fun I think it is illegal!!!!

2010 Coaster Calendars

I have been busy making more coaster calendars. I finished 6 of them today. They are fun to make. I made them with 2010 calendars so that people could buy them for themselves, or for little gifts for teacher's, friends, the hairdresser, etc. At $5.00 each, that makes a really reasonable gift. If you are far away, and want some...let me know and as long as you pay the shipping, I will ship them out to you. Have a good night! Elaine

Coaster Calendar

Hi! I just finished working on this coaster calendar while talking to Lady Di and she "innocently" asked me if I was going to post it on the blog tonight. If you decode that....it means....I would like to see it NOW.....would you please post it! LOL Well, I will probably get shot...as usual...but that does make life interesting! Have a good night!

Zoofari & Beautiful Little Baby

Hello! Here is another baby card I made. I love the stamp Beautiful Little Baby and the little zebra from Zoofari. If you don't have Zoofari and would like it, my set is in the stall right now for sale. A very cute set. The DSP is Sweet Always. It makes up such pretty cards. The flower on this card I punched with the 5 petal punch, crumpled it up which breaks down the fibers in the card stock so you can seperate the layers. Click on the picture to see it larger so you can see the crinkled effect. Kind of cool. I then sponged one of the layers and attached them together, and put a pretty in pink button on top. I also wove some ribbon through slots I created on the card and put on some wide chocolate ship stitched ribbon. This is a great way to add texture to your cards with the wide ribbon.
I am not sure what they are doing to the old H&R block building behind my house today, but the loud equipment banging etc is driving me crazy and Molly has been mad about it too. She has been growling at them on and off today. And yes.....cats do growl. Taffy does it to sometimes when she doesn't like a sound of a vehicle.
I have been working my tail off today and definitely need a break so will be going to watch some TV shortly and to rest. My stamping order came in today and it was like Christmas for sure. All the new paper's for the Designer paper split arrived!!!! Woo Hoo! I spent several hours chopping them up into 6 x 6 pieces for the split. Every pack I opened I think was better than the one before. Can you tell I loved them! It is hard to say which was my favorite but I really remember being awestruck with the colors of Cast A Spell...the new Halloween paper. I just love it! I am very much enjoying being home this week, it has been great! Outside of a few trips up town I have been here. I did make a run today to the post office to mail out a bunch of retired items that people were looking for over the internet. I also made a trade for the set Eastern Blooms which is in the current catalog and I am excited about that coming. New toys to play with! I am just a kid at heart! LOL Have a great day! Elaine

Beautiful Borders

Here are two cards that I made with the stamp set Beautiful Borders. I am sad that this one retired as I would have liked to demo'd it longer. It sure makes some quick, simple and elegant cards. The Blue Bayou card is embossed with white embossing powder. The picture doesn't do it justice.

God Is Love

Hello! I made this card for my sister's wedding anniversary. They have been married 20 years now. Unbelievable! I used the stamp set God is Love, DSP from Sweet Always, Boho flower punch, & Certainly Celery Ribbon. I dry embossed the circles on the bottom of the card with the Crop-A-Dile.
I had some people ask about the front porch on the Bungalow Jenna is renting. Yes, that is in her part of the duplex. It is all finished off and is a lovely room. I talked to her this morning and they are getting all settled in. She said that she set a table up out on the porch to do stamping and scrapbooking and she said Diana is so excited! They all love the new place. She has been planting flowers in the flower bed that runs along side of the house on the driveway side. She said she has it almost done, only a few more things to plant. She said she got into a ant hill and had gotten bit by an ant. I was laughing and teasing her that now Antonio has his own ant hill! When he was up here on Father's Day Weekend he couldn't believe all the ant hills in my driveway. He said that he hadn't seen ant hills since he was a little boy in Mexico! We got a good chuckle out of that!
Not too much new around here. I kind of had a layed back day today. I ran a couple of quick errands, got my other project done for Danna's party and boy did it turn out cute. We will be using the new In Colors and the stamp set Circle Circus! Your going to love it! I also made up a couple of more sample cards to show, and caught up on my blog reading. I am enjoying having a laid back week!

Vintage Picnic

Good Evening! I just finished up playing in my stamping room tonight and made these 6 cards with Diane's new stamp set called Vintage Picnic from Papertrey. Diane and I had both seen some really neat samples with this stamp set and she ordered it. She just got it and asked me if I wanted to play with it! Now isn't that sweet.....she hasn't even used it yet. Now that is a good friend! She brought it down to the flea market with her this afternoon for me and I tell you, all I could think of is that it is so stinkin' cute and I can't wait to get it inked. There are several baskets in the set but this one is my favorite so I chose to work with it first. These baskets are the exact style that I collect. Isn't that awesome! There are also alot of different things in the set that you can put IN the basket and different sayings to go with it. I used some of the different saying's on these cards and colored every basket differently so I thought I would snap picture's tonight so that you could see all the variations. They were VERY piddley to color but everytime I got one done it was fun to see how different they looked. You will probably be seeing some more baskets before I return it. Do you think maybe she will forget that she bought it!?!?!? LOL Not a chance!

I hope all of you had a nice 4th of July weekend. One of the great things about the flea market is making lots of new friends and seeing your old ones. We were very fortunate to have good weather for most of the weekend. I loved it but was ready to go home when I left at 3:30. I hit the bed after I got home and watched a couple of episodes that I had taped of House and got a little nap in. I put in my Tastefully Simple order for next week and then it was off to stamping land. I hope to hole up for a few days in there this week. I need to finish getting another project ready for Danna's party on the 13th.

I hope you all are working on your cards to send the troops. Remember for each card and envelope that you donate to be sent for our troops to use, I will put your name in the drawing for a package of designer paper of your choice! Please help support this worthy cause! Have a good night! Elaine

The Bungalow

Good Morning! Happy Fourth of July Weekend! I had supper last night with Mom, Dad, Sarah, Zach, Dale and Judy Jefferson. It was nice to see the Jefferson's again. They usually spend the night of the 4th with us. We had an excellent supper last night. Then we visited, Sarah and Zach left to go visit the Camps, and the rest of us watched the fireworks. Murphy's and Ashworth's had a fantastic display of fireworks and there were other people shooting fireworks over the lake to but I don't know who had those. It ended around 10:30 with the playing of Taps. A very nice ending to a beautiful display. I swear it get's bigger and better every year. When I went home there were cars all over the place on East Lake Street and I had to wait quite a while to cross 13 as there was so much traffic so I am guessing that the beach was packed too. We could hear all the people cheering. Oh...and I forgot that there were all kinds of boats out on the lake this year with people on them watching too. I guess the word is out about how nice the fireworks are. Thank you for making our 4th special!!!! I know Nadine will be reading this so I will send a special hug out to her! Thanks buddy!

Jenna is in the process of moving and I thought I would share the pictures of her new place. It is adorable and she is renting the lower half of this bungalow. She was off on Thursday and Friday and hopefully got alot done. I can't wait to see it after she has settled in. It will be cute I am sure. Make it a great day!
