Treat Box and Wedding Card

Well...tomorrow is the big day! I woke up this morning from a sound sleep to the phone ringing. You know how when you are sleeping sound and you wake up kind of disoriented!?!? Well, that is how I was. And I woke up thinking, where am I suppose to be....what did I forget to do??? Does this sound like a mother of the bride who's daughter is getting married tomorrow? It does to me, and I didn't even realize that I was stressed. And the funny thing is that I had all my stuff done for the wedding on Wednesday except for making the wedding card which I did today! But it has been a very hectic month so it is understandable. Plus Carol and I packed up the flea market yesterday which was another big job. So I have Tastefully Simple sitting in boxes on my living room floor and craft items in the van as I will be selling at Women's Night Out on the 6th, plus there is more Taste Fully Simple in boxes sitting on the kitchen counter that just came that need to be priced but that can wait till next week. As you can see I have been stamping up a storm. I decorated 35 of these treat boxes to be put by each place setting. They are filled with peanut butter m&m's. That is what Sarah wanted put in them. And boy are they yummy!
I made the card with Together Forever. I just love how the mr. & mrs. stamped out. This set is such a wonderful set to make Wedding, and Anniversary Cards with. I just love it! These colors are Sarah's favorites so I think she will like it a lot. I also used the flower border and "to have & to hold" from the retired simply scrapping kit Tie the Knot. The flower, pearls and pin are from my pretties kit. I am such a little hoarder. I love the Pretties but hoard them as I don't want them to be gone. Never mind the fact we know a Stampin Up Demonstrator very well (ME) and can order another box any time I want! LOL BUT....little miss hoarder decided this was a special enough occasion to use them, what can be more special than your baby getting married!!!!

Wedding Invitations

This is a picture of the wedding invitations. I used the stamp set Together Forever and the matching wheel, Forever Flowers. When this stamp camp came out in our catalog last January, I thought "Oh.....this set is so beautiful, it would be so nice to make things for the girls when they get married!". Then I thought, you'd better not do that, they might not like the set. So first of all I ordered the wheel as I just loved that. So when Sarah came to me in May when she got engaged she asked me if I would make her invitations and things. Of course I jumped at the chance! On a whim I showed her a picture of the stamp set and she loved the sample and said that is what I want! (Miracles never cease...tee hee!) So that is where the idea for her wedding invitations began....page 46 of the Spring/Summer 08 Catalog. We made some changes to it and improved it greatly, in my humble opinion! When I CASE (Copy and share everything)I usually change something. That is how it is in the crafting world. An idea begins and gets changed, and then the next person changes it again, etc. Any hooo....Sarah just loved how they turned out and I have had a lot of compliments on them and the shower invitations.

Shower Invitations

Here are some pictures of the invitations I made for Sarah and Zach's wedding shower. Sarah just loves this swirly stamp! It is from the stamp set Baroque Motifs. The fancy scroll on the top of the invitation is from Frames with A Flourish. It matches the swirl so nicely! It gives things an elegant look. The tag and the stamping inside the invitation is from the set Please Come.

Making Spiders!

Darla George just sent me a couple of pictures that she took at my sister's house on Sunday during Bobby's confirmation party. I taught the kids how to make spider's with the scallop circle punch for the head, photo corner punch for the legs, and 1/2 & 1/4 circle punches for the eyes and mouth. I forgot to take a pictures of the spider's but Darla took some pictures of us working on them. When Darla took the picture of Jack working on them....she was teasing Jack that the girls would want him to become part of the scrap booking cult and that I should put this on my blog and "Aunt Sandy" would never let him hear the end of it! LOL Any way's you can see my amusement at it all in the picture. Have a great night! Boo

P.S. Here is a picture that I had on my computer of the spiders. The center is a York Peppermint Patty. These would also be cute to make on top of suckers!

German Chocolate!

Ummmmm......simple pleasure's in life. As most of you know, I love chocolate. Well I just finished savoring a couple of pieces of chocolate my friend Mike Danowski brought me from Germany. We spent a couple of hours together this afternoon having lunch and bombing around. We picked up his nephew Riley from the day care then Mike brought me home and I asked if Riley could come in and see the kitty's. I told Riley to stand still and let the cats come to him and he did and they both walked right up to him which is pretty amazing but I actually think that Molly understood what I wanted her to do. It also helped that I got down in between them I think. Any how, I picked Molly up and she let him pet her, and then when Taffy was on my computer chair, Riley petted her too. I thought you would like to see what my box of chocolate's looked like so I shot some pictures. The minute I opened the cover, Taffy had to get up there and snoop at them! A cute picture for sure! Enjoy your friends! Boo

Refuge and Strength Confirmation Card

Good Morning! And it really is morning...very early morning! I woke up at 4am and have been up putzing on the computer after a very sound sleep. It has been a nutsy, fun, chaotic week. We are down to exactly one week before the wedding. I have been running around shopping the past few days with Diane on Wednesday, Carol and Sarah on Thursday, and again with Sarah last night. Sarah and I went last night to pick up the wedding dress and some decorations for the tables. We were going to go to Madison today but Sarah decided that she didn't need to go now so I won't have to do that today! :-)
I have been enjoying every minute of this but after 3 days of being in a vehicle my back is saying IT does not want to go! So I get a break today from riding and shopping. In between all this, I did manage to get my confirmation card made for my nephew Bobby. He will be getting confirmed on Sunday and I am one of his Godmother's. I have to be apart of the service. Lenore wrote to me yesterday and said there will be a lot of kids ahead of him so that by the time it is Bobby's turn we should know what we are suppose to be doing! Any how it should be a fun day and I will tell you more about that later. In the mean time here is a picture of the card that I made for him. It is hard to believe that he will be 16 in a few days and is getting confirmed! I hope that he likes this card. I love this stamp set. It is a keeper! Boo

Special Event at Sparta "Twilight on Water Street"

Hi! I just received this information from Quilt Corner in Sparta and thought I would share it with all of you. I will be selling at Women's Night Out here in town so won't be able to go....and man it sounds like fun! If you end up going to it...please leave a comment on here and tell me how it was. And if you do leave a comment on here, please leave an email address so that I can get back to you as I have no way to get back to you otherwise! Thanks! Have a great day! Boo

To our faithful downtown shoppers:

We the Water Street merchants are so excited to tell you about an up-coming event that we know you will just love.

This is how is works?

Purchase a $10.00 ticket, bought in advance and get gifts and goodies all night long at participating shops.

Go to Park Bank from 5:00 P.M. – 6:00 P.M. and pickup your gift bag. This bag will contain a gift for you that is worth $21.98+.

Also in this gift bag will be coupons from many different merchants. This bag will also contain a button.

Each store participating will also be serving you food. Food will vary at each shop. For instance, when you pick up your bag at Park Bank you will be given hot apple cider. Ginny's cupboard will be giving you a sample of one of the newest additions to there menu, a wonderful salad. There are over 12 participating merchants at this time but expect the list to grow. You will get a list in your bag of the participating shops. Each time you go into a store you will have a card that you can asked to have punched. Beth Griffith's Stamping Party!

Hello! I apologize for not posting very much this month. Sarah and Zach decided to get married a few weeks ago so I have been quickly throwing together a wedding shower and wedding! The shower is the 18th, and the wedding on Nov. 1st. So you probably won't be hearing much out of me this month. I have been stamping up a storm!!! I made 60 shower invitations, 17 wedding invitations, 18 sourcream containers and decorated 24 kit kat bars for prizes for the shower, 24 candy baskets to hold the balloons down with the Big Shot, 70 thank you cards, plus finished up the Thrivent buying and grant paper work for Community Quilting, made notebooks and prizes for Bridges of Youths chili cook off, had the flea market stall open a few days this month when it wasn't too cold, and had a cold to boot through all of this! Plus did Beth's party on Monday night which was alot of fun! I know I am forgetting something, but reading this makes me tired enough! LOL It has a busy fun time and the kids are so happy! They bought a house at the beginning of the month and have been busy fixing it up along with trying to work full time and plan on wedding! They are young and nuts, but happy. They are keeping this all pretty small. Just immediate family and a few close friends. So if you weren't invited, please don't be upset. They really want this to be small. Any whoooo...I just got back from the Rapids a little while ago from picking up more wedding things and thought I would quick put up a few pictures from Beth's party. I was too busy running around helping people but Beth took a few with my camera. We had 16 people at this party and it was the largest party I have ever demo'd for. But Beth has a large beautiful home and we all had a great time! Guess who is getting a BIG SHOT!
